Message from the chairman

Welcome from the staff of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Mons.

Our laboratories are involved in many different areas: organic synthesis, quantum chemistry studies of electronic and optical properties of new polymers, mass spectrometry of organic compounds, nuclear magnetic resonance studies of metabolism and pharmacology, protein structure, molecular design of vaccines, synthesis and analysis of inorganic thin film materials, digital modeling of surface reactions, heterogeneous catalysis, structure and morphology of plastic materials, synthesis and study of biodegradable polymers… The Department of Chemistry possesses cutting-edge equipment owing to the financial support from the university, the Belgian National Foundation for Scientific Research, the Walloon Region, the European Community, and other financial support including companies.
